What Is Mt Gravatt Lookout?
Mt Gravatt Lookout is a large picnic area located at the top of Mt Gravatt which is famous for its amazing views of Brisbane’s CBD and surrounding mountain ranges. On a clear day you can see as far as the D’Aguilar Range, Mt Coot-tha and the Glass House Mountains.
The lookout has a small cafe with plenty of seating if you plan on staying for a while. The kids will especially enjoy the small playground located behind the cafe, next to the seating area.
If eating in isn’t quite up your alley however, there are also plenty of shady areas and seats to set up a picnic blanket on the side of the mountain where you can enjoy the views.
Apart from driving to the top, for those up to the challenge, Mt Gravatt Lookout can also be accessed via the Toohey Forest bush walk, beginning at the Griffith University Campus below or from Gertrude Petty Place.
How Do I Get To Mt Gravatt Lookout?
The 2km walk from Gertrude Petty Place at the bottom of Mt Gravatt takes approximately 1.5 – 2hrs and snakes its way around the northern face of the mountain where you will have clear views of Brisbane’s CBD.
