What Is Gold Coast Regional Botanical Gardens?
Located at just a 10 minute drive from central Surfers Paradise, the Gold Coast Regional Botanic Gardens are a tranquil escape into nature set on 31 hectares of land overlooking the Gold Coast Hinterland.
Featuring a sensory garden where you can get up close with the plants, a rose garden, native ecosystems along the mangroves to mountains trail and much more, the botanical gardens are a great place to relax.
The gardens also feature large boardwalks surrounding and across the beautiful lake, where you can see birds, turtles and even eels!
Just past the lake you will find a children’s playground, as well as a large bamboo garden that is great for playing hide and seek. In this area you will also find plenty of barbecues and seating areas, making it the perfect place for a get together.
Our personal favourite part of the gardens however, would have to be the Friends Centre (Perhaps because of the amazing coffee they serve), that also sells ice cream and snacks.
There are many great picnic areas within the gardens, including undercover seating areas, as well as loads of comfy places to curl up with a good book.
Free guided walks are available at the botanical gardens, as well as regular school holiday activities for kids.
