What Is Boxhead Park Lota?
Located in just south of Manly on Lota Esplanade, Lota you will find Boxhead Park – A beach hut themed playground surrounded by grassy fields that is a great place to spend a few hours if you’re looking for fun things to do in Brisbane with kids.
The brightly colored, sand based playground is partially fenced and partially covered by sails, and is great for both toddlers and older Brisbane children. It features swings, climbing nets, sliding poles, slides, rockers and brightly colored climbing equipment.
The beach hut themed playground has an upper section with larger equipment that are great for older kids, and a lower section with smaller equipment that caters for your younger Brisbane children. It is also sand based, making it a great place for the kids to bring along their buckets and spades!
Boxhead Park also features plenty of open grassy areas for your Brisbane children to run around or kick a ball, whilst the views out to the bay and the calming sea air provide a lovely reprieve from the crowds and stress of the city for us adults.
There are a few undercover seating areas that make a great spot for a picnic, as well as electric barbeques if you’d prefer to cook. You’ll also find public toilets (including a disabled toilet), water fountains and plenty of concrete pathways, making Boxhead Park a great place to bring along your Brisbane children’s bike’s and scooters!
If a picnic or barbeque isn’t your thing, you’ll also find a delightful fish and chips shop across the road by the name of Bart’s Place that is known as one of the best on the bay.
What Should I Bring To Boxhead Park Lota?
We recommend bringing some sunscreen, some sand toys for playing in the playground, bikes and scooters, and plenty of water. We also recommend bringing along a picnic if you don’t plan on checking out Barts Place across the road!
