What Is Yatala Drive in?
Step back in time at Yatala Drive-In, one of the two remaining drive-in theatres in all of Brisbane. Immerse yourself in the nostalgic ambiance created by rock and roll tunes, retro advertisements, and the charming 50s-themed café. It’s open seven nights a week, features three screens and often hosts double features and special events. Yatala Drive-In promises not just a movie night but a journey into the past.
The cost is just $40 for a car (up to 6 people) and they are open in all weather!

What Should I Bring to Yatala Drive in?
You’re welcome to sit in your car or bring along some fold out chairs and blankets to sit outside. Your dog is even welcome to come along on a lead.
You also need an operational FM car stereo or portable FM radio to tune to the sound of the movie.
How Long Does It Take?
You can choose whether to watch one movie or a double feature most nights. If you arrive up to 45 minutes early, gates will open and there’s a playground for the little ones, and of course, the cafe.
Is it good for kids?
If you have younger children, even babies, the drive in can be the perfect way to see a movie. You can have some privacy in the car in case anyone gets upset or they might just fall asleep in time for you to enjoy movie number two.
What else should I know about Yatala Drive in?
As well as movies, Yatala Drive In regularly hosts Sunday markets, car shows and other events. The markets are only $5 for your own car boot stall or $2 per person for entry. They’re on the third Sunday of every month from 5:30am.
